Hey Huskies! Hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine’s Day and had a good week 7! I know I’m enjoying the cloudy skies ending this week☁️

So far this week we have seen some overall uninteresting weather, with cold and pretty dry conditions holding true. Early this week we even saw a bit of sun (mostly)! 🌤️ Some of these clear conditions led to some below normal overnight lows. . . We even hit a record this month for a low of 28 degrees Wednesday night! This is a whole 10 degrees cooler than normal nightly lows of around 38 degrees. Look here at how our temperatures have been below normal!!!

Now sorry to all you spring lovers, but it looks like these cold temperatures are going to stick around at least through next week, as a high-pressure Artic air mass lingers over Washington, giving us some VERY cold temperatures. It is likely to be some of the coldest this winter, and definitely of 2023. It’s hard to see snow this far out, but air masses up from the Northern plains tend to be on the dry side, so lowland snow is unlikely, but hard to see just yet. With temperatures this low, there is definitely the threat of icy roads, as overnight lows could reach well below freezing, so be careful on those roads, especially at night. Overall, be sure to remember your winter gear for next week!

Looking more short-term to this weekend, we are looking at a cloudy weekend, with light precipitation (yay!) and temperatures in the low-to-mid 40s. The perfect weather to study or sit down with a book! (I know I’ll be wrapped in a blanket while studying for my midterms. . .) ☕️

Looking at the trends for precipitation and snow fall this month, we are seeing less precipitation than normal for February, but on Monday, we had .35 inches of rain (the 2nd wettest day of this month so far! 🎉)! And…. .4 inches of snow measured at SeaTac! That is the first day this month with measurable snowfall! ❆
Well Huskies, have a good weekend and keep working hard! The end of the quarter is rapidly approaching!!😃
